Bob Jones University (yes, that Bob Jones University) is currently staging Henry V. Shakespeare sure can be used as a means to just about any end; according to the school's description of the play,

"The play also develops the parallel biblical theme that God in His Providence determines the destiny of nations, at times using war as His instrument of judgment."

and ...

"While Elizabethans generally regarded Shakespeare’s Henry V as an ideal Christian king, a modern distaste for war and warriors has produced negative reaction to Henry V as a piece of warmongering chauvinism."

I'm glad we had Shakespeare around to remind us that war is "excruciating" but *not* distasteful, as it is given to us by God.
